FSC2464 Teaching Basic Coding and Computational Thinking In Primary School

This course is meant for educators with no or only little previous coding or IT background. It introduces how Design-based project learning improves students’ engagement, motivation to learn new skills and how it is used in the classroom. It explores key concepts in programming, including objects, loops and conditional statements and shows how to breathe life into programs with sounds and animations. At the end of the course, participants will know how to best introduce students to a visual programming environment through hands-on practice, problem solving and a subject related interactive story project.
